SMS Reference

Thursday 11th October 2012 marked the 50th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II and Pope Benedict XVI announced this date to be the beginning of a Year of Faith. To help Catholics deepen their understanding of their faith a daily SMS service based on the Youth Catechism (You Cat) has just been launched for R4 per week.

All you have to do is send the word JOY as an SMS to the number 31222. Once you get back a message asking you to confirm, just send the word YES in reply. If you are already signed up for the Hope&Joy service you have automatically started receiving the new Catechism messages. If you are not sure, you can call or SMS 076 420 9856 for help.

There is no source on the Internet where you can find the exact text from You Cat so you are encouraged to buy a copy from:

SACBC website (www.sacbc.org.za)

Paulines Books and media (www.paulinesa.org)

Catholic Bookshop, Cape Town

Catholic Bookshop, Durban

You can also 'like' the facebook page for You Cat South Africa (www.facebook.com/pages/Youcat-South-Africa) and follow on twitter (@YOUCATSA) for extra resources on the You Cat
